One thing I really love to do is watch thunderstorms. Even better I like to photograph them But, I don't enjoy worrying about a soaked camera. So I don't take lightning photos that often. The weather has to be just right with no rain or even if there's a little drizzle. I can enjoy it so much more when I don't have to constantly wipe the front of the lens every 60 seconds and checking to see if the camera is getting wet while under a bag.
This past Sat night Sept 3, was one of those nights, I went down to the Detroit river and was able to get a few shots before the rain came. I had my camera on a tripod, used the bulb setting with a remote, aperture was f11 and had a great time.
